M. L. Gatewood purchases "ADJUSTA TRIM SQUIRT" wet end adjustable edge trimming machine.
Hillsboro - March 1, 2001 - M. L. Gatewood Company, the leading trim nozzle manufacturer in the world for the wet end of paper machines, has significantly expanded it's product line. Gatewood's newest product was developed by paper industry expert, Bob Edwards, to improve safety and reduce sheet breakage by allowing the edge trim to be moved with ease and precision on either side of the paper machine. The machine reduces down time and problems at the re-winder because the correct trim at the fourdrinier can be easily accomplished. Even benefits to the clothing are realized.
"We have been providing quality and reliability in trim nozzles for almost 40 years", said Judy Moore, President of M. L. Gatewood. "By adding this product to our line we are broadening our support of wet end paper production. We have been reviewing new offerings for some time now, and when we discovered Bob's machine we were very excited."

"With this product already in major paper mills such as Mead, Smurfit Stone, International Paper, Abitibi, and others, we felt it was a perfect acquisition."
Since the acquisition, we have worked to redesigned and improve the machine. The improved "ADJUSTA TRIM SQUIRT" uses machined components for a more precision product, but is still manufactured using the same type of Duff- Norton machine screw actuator and is still constructed of stainless steel and UHMW plastic making it able to withstand tough mill conditions.
